That you were pretty, modern and vigorous
with a climate almost luxuriant,
that you were, on this planet the most extensive city
and always inclined to be favoured with gifts.

That if paradise was created
here in Brisbane it would be located.
That is the saying by the people signalling a truth,
but my hurt soul, listens absently.

What dense fog blurred these eyes
preventing them to see as others?
Umbilical cord, internal roots, remembrances...
 thousand names shuffled to name hopelessness.

And it only took
those elderly people from overseas
very afar
bringing suitcases full of love...
And I saw you pretty, Brisbane,
sparkling in bright stars.
... and I saw you pretty Brisbane
thanks to those lovely travellers.
